Beauty Tips For Glowing Skin

With the change of seasons, don’t let the autumn/winter’s harsh conditions stress your skin. Great skincare can help give your skin a radiance boost but here are some additional beauty tips for glowing skin to help give your winter skin a natural glow.

Beauty Tips For Glowing Skin

Drink plenty of water

We need to stay hydrated even in the cooler months, especially when exposed to cold winds, central heating, etc.  Drinking around 8 glasses of fluid a day helps to keep you hydrated and helps the body get rid of toxins.  Add in lemon for taste if you struggle to drink enough water.

Eat more Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids (EFAs)

These are the two main EFAs and they’re important for assimilating nutrients and vitamins for a healthy brain and nervous system and they are vital for our hair, skin and nails too.

Great sources include salmon and other fatty fish.  Smaller amounts are found in avocado, flaxseed, chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is a rich source of the important omega-6 fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).  Low levels of GLA have been found in women with PMS and people with eczema.

* Vitamin supplements may only be of assistance if dietary intake is inadequate.  Always read the label.  Use only as directed.  If symptoms persist consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Ensure your intake of B vitamins is sufficient

In particular, ensure that you have sufficient riboflavin (vitamin B2) daily intake.  A symptom of riboflavin deficiency is chapped lips.  As vitamin B is not stored by the body, you will need to get it form the foods you eat.

Food sources of vitamin B include meat, fish, poultry, milk, cheese and eggs, spinach, nuts and mushrooms.

Protect the skin on your body

Don’t forget to also protect the skin on your body.  There are clinically tested skincare range developed for those who suffer from very dry skin or skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.  These contain concentrated, moisturising emollient base to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin and provide optimum hydration.

Massage dry skin lotions into your skin for immediate relief from itchiness and sensitivity.

Also, use a soap-free wash for cleansing your skin without stripping away any of its naturally occurring oils.
